Aero Academic
Aero Academic is an independent study platform for FAA airman knowledge tests. How questions are written, checked and corrected, and where the sources come from.
Aero Academic is an independent study platform for FAA airman knowledge tests: Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and the Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. It gives you practice tests, a Study Hub with interactive animations, and a study plan mapped to the ACS from your own results.
No. Aero Academic is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA, PSI or CATS. The practice reports it produces are practice reports, not FAA documents.
Questions are original practice questions written from public FAA sources: the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge, the Airplane and Helicopter Flying Handbooks, the Aviation Weather Handbook, the Aeronautical Information Manual, 14 CFR and the Airman Certification Standards. Each question carries its ACS task code and cites its source.
Every question must pass automated checks before a student sees it. New questions are released in batches, and only after a person has read a random sample of the batch (at least 50, or all of a smaller batch) and passed it. One failed question in the sample holds back the whole batch.
Use the flag button on any question in the exam, or email contact@aeroacademic.com.au. Corrections are made to the question and recorded in the question bank change log at https://www.aeroacademic.com/question-bank-updates.
The "Explain Like My Flight Instructor" feature writes an explanation of a question with AI. It is in beta, it can be wrong, and each explanation shows its sources so you can check them. Report anything that does not match.
Some questions refer to a figure in the FAA testing supplement or to a chart. Aero Academic does not host those documents; each question that needs one links to the publisher, so you always read the current edition.
